![]() *If you want to know what "accidentally" means, it was THE ONE TIME I ran out of torches. Maybe he got a string of failed retreats? I know last time I accidentally ran into a Shambler,* it took a few tries to retreat successfully. If you're playing with standard options, however, retreat is not a guaranteed success. Also, the arbalest can be good for killing the shambler in a marking party. Why didn't you just retreat.? You can retreat starting up to round 2, since you can't retreat if you get surprised. There are five ancestral trinkets from the shambler, that you can only obtain by fighting him or from the shambling horror in DD1: the candle, the map, the scroll, the lantern and the flask. Probably the first fight so far to really give the game a true lovecraftian feeling for me at least.īut whatever, I'll just make sure to never interact with a mysterious looking obelisk again. Still, the real suprise was two of my heroes becoming virtuous during this battle making the desperation more intense as they fell one by one to this incomprehensible thing. Not difficult, but I did have to change up my strategy a bit. ![]() ![]() Originally posted by Stratomsk:The Cove was interesting as I had never been there before. ![]()
